I watched Oprah’s last show with my mother today and she was beaming with pride and sadness all at the same time. My mother is also from the south with relatives in Mississippi and knows all about the struggles of growing up in the south.
I tried to explain to her that she has her own network now, but her 84-year-old mind just could not comprehend it, so I gave up and said she’ll be back soon.
