Obama 2012

Well, I spent my morning watching the Presidential inauguration with my 85 year old mother, who still can’t believe she’s alive to witness Barack Obama being sworn in for a second term!
She still finds it hard to believe that Dr. King got a holiday in his honor.

Quotes of the week:
Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.
~President Barack Obama

An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.
~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Pomona Art Walk 035 drummer

I’ve noticed this drummer many times during my visits to the Pomona Art Colony, in Pomona, CA., where the local art galleries sponsor a wonderful art walk every second Saturday of the month. During those times we have grown to recognize each other by sight and he always greets me with a smile and you can can tell that he really loves to make music.
I hope to find out his name and feature him in one of my posts in the near future.
Quote of the Week:
Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
– Howard Thurman
