Cheers from Pasadena

Lathrop K. Leishman trophy For most beautiful entry from a non-commercial sponsor, Kaiser Permanente's "Every Body Walk"

Well this is my first my post of 2012 and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Monday I covered the Rose Parade, which is normally held on January 1, however keeping in line with the Tournament of Rose, Never on a Sunday tradition. In 1893, the first the then-3-year-old parade would have fallen on a Sunday, officials decided it would be best to avoid interfering with Sunday worship services and instituted a policy of moving events to January 2 whenever January 1 fell on a Sunday. The last time the “Never on a Sunday” policy was in effect was 2006.
It was a picture perfect day to enjoy the parade and watch the football game.
Quote of the week:
Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past.
